My Rho app was suspended and removed from Google PlayStore. The app was published by NIC eGov Mobile Apps as it was a Government app. The publisher received this from Google :
Hi Developers at NIC eGov Mobile Apps,
After review, OASIS Mobile, com.nic.oasismobile, has been suspended and removed from Google Play as a policy strike because it violates the impersonation policy. Your app is identical to an existing app on the Play Store.
The Google Play Review Team
I contacted the publisher, i.e., NIC eGov Mobile Apps but they say : "Impersonation has many subjective attributes. Name of app is one of the among these. & as google play reviewed with its own mechanism on this, we can only do the appeal about to remove the suspension. The appeal includes signed letter from appropriate business authority of these apps. Before going to appeal(by us), pl send the details about whether this app exists on another account in google play".
A search on the word "OASIS" in Google Play returns similary named (although exact match is not there), e.g., "OASIS Mobile Edition", "m-OASIS", "Oasis School of Excellence", "Oasis 2016".
AFAIK, this app does not exist on another account in Google Playstore.
Does it have to do anything with com.nic.oasismobile? Please advise. I hate to give it another name as I would have to do the same for all other platform versions
Yes. Its definitely not. Its a Play store issue and I should have posted in the General Discussion section.
But I'm sure some of you, if not all, have published some apps on Play store. I was banking on your experience to get some suggestions. But never mind. I guess asking Mr. Google would be more appropriate.
